Chantal Dufour, Interior designer, is an Associate member of the British Institute of Interior Design.

 

Everything started in Italy, at the heart of a family of entrepreneurs carefully leaded by my Italian father and my Swiss mother. As a child, I had the chance to discover magical places and I grew up impressed by such inspiring architecture. I could spend hours watching around me, captivated by lights and the enhancement of pieces of art through interior design. When time has come for new adventures, I settled in Geneva, where I started to build my life and discovered the Middle East at the same time with my husband. Thanks to this delicate mix of Italy, Switzerland and oriental notes, I immersed myself in the beauty of cultural diversity and opened my eyes to the world and its spaces. 

 

I always loved to capture the power of architecture, the subtle and magic energy of a stone, the inner feeling related to the atmosphere of the place, and over time, this aspiration kept growing. When I enter a room, I immediately sense the space, observe the materials, the light sources, the volumes. The atmosphere of a place is very important and has a strong impact on our well-being, on our way of perceiving things and on our everyday creativity.

 

I like to spend a lot of time in the wild listening to the sounds, smelling the grass after the rain, observing the never-ending choices of textures, colors and shapes. These simple principles make me feel positive. They are my main source of inspiration. 

 

After a long experience in international trade and several personal interior projects, I decided to fulfil myself in my passion for space design. For 3 years, I trained at the prestigious KLC School of Design in London (UK) and learned 3D design before launching my interior design studio in Geneva.

 

More and more concerned by the energetic impact of a place on our wellbeing I decide to go deepen, through readings, as far as the bioenergetic and geobiology domain is related. I am fascinated by these subjects as they help me create places that are much more aligned with our spiritual being.

 

Today my perception about interior design is more related to find solutions based on the energetic field between the space and its occupant rather than offering to my clients just the choice of trending materials, colours and pieces of furniture.

 

Above all, I am happy to help clients to find their inner wellness through their living /working place.
